California Organization of District Employees (CODE) is an association of Resource Conservation District (District) employees whose mission is to provide a means by which District employees throughout California can communicate with each other, share information, knowledge and ideas, and work together to raise the standards of employee and District professionalism statewide.

In collaboration with CARCD and other partner organizations, CODE seeks to strengthen the resource conservation services of Districts within the State of California by promoting professional improvement, training and continuing education opportunities for District employees; informing District employees of current events and job opportunities; and seeking opportunities to provide for on-going stable relationships between District Boards, supervisors, employees and cooperating agencies.  

At the 2007 CARCD Conference, District employees expressed a desire to undertake the following actions:

1. Collect and circulate ideas and examples to recruit and retain district employees.
2. Raise awareness of CODE among District Boards and employees
3. Explore opportunities for and perhaps coordinate “in-depth” training sessions at a regional scale
4. Support CARCD in its effort to develop a statewide Commission…. (NEED EXACT WORDING FROM TACY)
5. Work with CARCD to develop a statewide program to provide sustainable funding for RCDs
6. Explore additional opportunities to utilize CARCD and DOC staff for CODE activities
