From the Executive Director
Welcome to the new face of CARCD! We are so excited to launch a web page that better reflects the amazing and impactful work that Resource Conservation Districts (RCDs) are doing around State. I am constantly in awe of how hard the RCDs fight to improve their communities and natural resources and how difficult it is to be non-partisan, open and accepting while making real and lasting change. I am equally as amazed at the power that bringing people together around common challenges achieves. I am also amazed at the amount of work they get done for next to no money.
RCD work is critical. With the growing environmental challenges our state and world face and the growing political divide, the role of the RCDs is more important than ever. We need an army of folks on the ground fighting to solve environmental challenges while bridging the divides we feel in our communities.
The challenges in front of us are large and our solutions have to match the enormity of what we face. Because of that, we can’t do it alone. None of us can do it alone. We are so thankful for all of our partners that believe in this work, the role of the RCDs, and our communities. Thanks for jumping in shoulder to shoulder and creating change with us. As I look forward to tackling the challenges that are ahead of us, I am glad that we have a California that is united around solving these challenges and I look forward to finding solutions with all the RCDs and each of our partners.
