Cathryn Henning

Farm Manager , Wild Willow Farm & Education Center

Originally from Chicago, Cathryn moved to San Diego and graduated with a B.S. in environmental engineering from UCSD in 2007.  While working with the Regional Water Quality Control Board, she discovered agriculture’s significant impact on water quality.  It was through volunteering with San Diego Coastkeeper and a 3-month farming internship at Finca Luna Nueva, that she discovered her true passion of working directly with her community and demonstrating choices that reduce our impact on the environment, which includes eating lots of fresh, local produce!

Cathryn has worked with Wild Willow Farm for 6 years, first as a farm student and then as the education coordinator, strengthening the farm’s education and outreach programs.  After a hiatus farming at Shakefork Community Farm, she returned to San Diego to assume the Farm Manager position in 2016.  Cathryn shares her love of goats while connecting people to the land and empowering visitors with the skills and information they need to make educated decisions around creating a supportive and healthy food system.
