Published on July 31, 2024

RCDMC is proud to be a part of a team receiving funding through a $71.1 million grant awarded to their partners at the California Marine Sanctuary Foundation from NOAA’s Climate Resilience Regional Challenge. They will be working with 21 partner organizations to implement adaptation strategies that create a regional, collaborative approach for addressing flooding and wildfire risks while building capacity through workforce development.

For RCDMC, this funding supports our multiple partnerships in fire reduction work (including the Central Coast Burn Association) as well as flood risk reduction work with new secondary channel projects within their Salinas River Stream Maintenance Program.
