Deanna Spehn

Deanna Spehn is in her sixth year as District Policy Director for State Senate President pro Tempore Toni Atkins. Ms. Spehn was Policy Director from February 2004 through December 5, 2012 for State Assemblymember and 8-year State Senator Christine Kehoe. Before working for the State, Ms. Spehn worked for the City of San Diego, 4 years as Senior Policy Advisor for City Councilmember Judy McCarty followed by 4 years as Rules Committee Consultant, Budget Analyst and Senior Policy Advisor for Mayor Susan Golding. Throughout her career she has specialized in the environment, housing, transportation, budget, land use, water, solid waste, and the Multiple Species Conservation Plan adopted in 1997.
